That’s great, you have decided which course you would like to study and when.

Applying to study is the easy part, and there a couple of ways to do so.

▪    Through an Online application

▪    In person on campus

▪    Through the post


You may have previously worked, been a volunteer, or attended previous training programs. Your current knowledge and skills may be relevant to the course that you are enrolling in. If you have current skills or knowledge relevant to your course you are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

If you would like more information about the opportunity to RPL your skills or knowledge, please read the following helpful documents, complete and submit the below SSA RPL application form along with your SSA Application for enrolment form.

It is Service Skills Academy’s responsibility to ensure a student is academically suited to undertake a particular approved course:

Prior education qualifications Service Skills Academy considers are needed for a student to be academically suited to undertake the course, these could include:

  • a copy of a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education that has been awarded to the student by an agency or authority of a State or Territory for the student’s completion of year 12;
  • the student is assessed as displaying competence at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy using an assessment tool approved under section 82 and can demonstrates competency
  • a certificate that has been delivered in English (however described) at a qualification at level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework has been awarded to the student

Remember to read, understand and tick the terms and conditions of enrolment declaration that is included on the Application Form.

Scan or using your phone take a snapshot of your personal identification and previous education documents (High School or Tertiary).

Submit your online application.

3. Please remember to let us know how you heard about us. It may have been your high school Guidance Counsellor or an Educational Consultant. You may have heard about us through a friend or social media.

4. If you are a mature age student and do not have access to your high school education documents, attach a copy of your most up to date Resume with your application. If you have studied a tertiary qualification and have access to these, you may attach your academic transcript instead.

6. We will check that your application form is complete and email you an ‘Offer of a Place’ letter.

7. For online courses, you will receive a separate email with your unique e-Learning username and password.

8. For blended courses, you will receive an email notifying you of your Orientation date and time the week before your course starts.

9. To get started either login to your e-Learning account or attend your blended orientation session.
